Prof. John Kuria Thuo

University Leader & Innovation Partner

Prof. John Kuria Thuo is a university leader whose work combines strategic administration, institutional development, and a strong commitment to research impact. He serves as the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.

In this role, he provides leadership across the university’s administrative and resource systems, helping align people, finance, procurement, infrastructure, and performance management with the institution’s strategic direction.

Prof. Thuo has also served in senior university leadership, including as Vice-Chancellor of Gretsa University. His contribution to the wider innovation ecosystem is grounded in strengthening the institutional systems and partnerships that allow research, entrepreneurship, and new ideas to move from potential to meaningful impact.

Together with Dr. Sum Psusma Tecla and Dr. Collins Otieno Odoyo, he contributed to “Building Innovation Ecosystems in Higher Education Institutions,” a book focused on advancing innovation and entrepreneurship within higher education.
